Emily has helped so much with our little boys sleep. We were struggling with our 3 year olds separation anxiety & frequent waking during the night. Thanks to Emily we now know that this wasn't bad behaviour it was in fact him expressing his feelings of insecurity during the night. She helped to teach us not only the skills needed to improve settling at the start of the night but also lots of games to play during the night waking to make it a less stressful situation for us all & create a positive change to sleep. Alongside with this Emily was also able to guide us to the use of certain products, stories & items which helped to improve sleep through minimal effort on our end. All in all we cannot recommend Emily enough. She was knowledgeable & considerate of our situation guiding us at a pace that seemed right for our family whilst also checking in to ensure that we were still make consistency a priority. She really is to thank for improving not only our families sleep but also our relationships. Thank you so much Emily, you've really given us our life back!
All we can say is thank you! We were unsure about whether to spend the money on a 1:1 sleep coaching package with Emily. Following our initial call with her it became very clear how knowledgable she was & how well her ethos suited our family. We worked with Emily to help improve our 7 month old boys sleep. He was waking every 45 minutes in the night for a feed which was proving very unsustainable for us! She explained to us the various methods we could try & gave us her recommendation of the best approach to go with. We took her lead & tried a very gradually introduction of a feeding pause at the beginning of the night. As predicted by Emily the first week wasn't the easiest. However she supported us along the way & offered adaptions to the plan to take it at a slower pace making it easier for our son. After 6 weeks of following Emily's sleep plan we have a different child. He still wakes twice a night for a feed but we now know that this is incredibly normal for babies of his age. He isn't however waking every 45 minutes in search of comfort as we have helped to teach him new ways to soothe during the night (white noise, us singing, rocking). Making life much easier for us. I was nervous about distressing our son during sleep training but Emily's approach & endless support really made it a breeze. It was so much easier than I imagined & I feel like we have helped create a good foundation for sleep whilst still strengthening our relationship with our baby.
Emily has been incredibly helpful to me in my career as a nanny. I trained at Norland College swell as Emily & have recently been working with a family who have suffred survearly with sleep related issues for the past 2 years. I connected with Emily via Norland where she gave me advice to support my charges. We discussed in depth nightmare, night terrors, the differences, the causes & what can be done to help. She pinpointed me on when to seek further advice & provided me with lots of beneficial information & tips to try with my nanny family. Since speaking to Emily my charges nightmares have reduced by around 80%. We understand what is causing them & focus on building confidence in the bedroom to help reduce their frequency. Emily really has been a huge help to myself & my nanny family. She is knowledgable & kind, providing accurate advice whilst also considered the emotions of a situation.
We had been struggling with our little girls sleep for months before contacting Emily. She was 10 months old, would wake frequently in the night & regularly was up before 5am. Within a week Emily had her sleeping in to 6.20am, a 'lie in' which we never thought we'd have again! It took another 4 weeks to crack the night waking but now I know that whenever she wakes it is simply due to a need needing to be filled (hungry, scared, cold) NOT that she is trying to 'get more attention'. Emily really taught me how simple parenting can be. She understands the fact that life is hard & no one is going to be perfect. She was accepting of my mistakes & offered solutions to my problems when I was feeling low. I view Emily more as a friend than a sleep coach. The skills she has taught me I will take into the rest of life ensuring that I am a better mother.
